In step with the markets

Treat yourself

Markets are the rhythm of life in our little country… It’s the place to be, the place to be! It’s where you can discover fresh produce from our local producers, as well as rarities you can’t find anywhere else. Whether it’s a weekly shopping market or a Sunday flea market, a flower market or a tree market… Do your shopping!

Every day

Its market

Every village has its own market… They punctuate the week and are an opportunity to shop, exchange ideas and find good local produce. Please note: markets are held in the morning, with the exception of the Peyrat market. For early risers, it’s always a pleasure to escape the crowds.

  • Mirepoix: Monday, the biggest market in the region (and undoubtedly the most beautiful!) / Thursday, small farmers’ market around the covered market.
  • Lavelanet: Wednesdays, farmers’ market under the covered market / Fridays, big market on the Espace André Roudière
  • Laroque d’Olmes: Thursday, market on Place Maurice Thorez / Saturday, market on Place de la Castillane
  • Le Peyrat: Thursday evening market under the covered market hall.
  • Léran: Tuesday to Sunday, market under the covered market hall
  • Bélesta: Tuesday, market at Place de la Mairie

Appointments

Each major event (swing festival, medieval festivities, puppet festival…) is an opportunity to showcase the skills of our craftsmen and women. These major events punctuate the life and seasons of the Cathar Pyrenees. We invite you to make a note of them in your diary.

And then there are our flower and tree markets, which mark the passing of the seasons… and our flea markets, which attract bargain hunters and browsers in search of rare pearls and bargains!

There’s bound to be a market for you!
