The Mountain Festival

Grand Site of Montségur

Every year for the past 3 years, as part of the Opération Grand Site de Montségur, the Communauté de Communes du Pays d’Olmes has put together a program of discoveries highlighting the major themes of the mountain environment. From the end of May to the end of November, young and old alike are invited to take part in the highlight of this annual program: the Fête de la Montagne!

A third edition packed with events

The Communauté de Communes du Pays d’Olmes is breathing new life into the new Grand Site discovery guide. A third edition, with many new features, exceptional meetings and visits, involved and committed players to offer you unforgettable moments. Above all, an invitation to discover or rediscover our environment in order to better protect and enhance it.

A program to match the ambitions of this territory of the Cathar Pyrenees, a program with content to match the demands of a future Grand Site.

Find these many events in the Agenda section of our website!

Towards the Grand Site de France label!

Since November 2016, the Communauté de communes du Pays d’Olmes has been involved in an Opération Grand Site (OGS) for Montségur with a view to obtaining the Grand Site de France label. This is the approach implemented to enhance and make sustainable the beauty and appeal of a territory recognized for its landscape, natural and cultural qualities and receiving a very large public.

As the mountain theme is important for the territory, this is the subject that the Pays d’Olmes Communauté de Communes has chosen to highlight through a vast program of animations.

The activities and events offered as part of the Fête de la Montagne contribute effectively to the Grand Site de France label:

  • they meet the principle of preserving and highlighting the spirit of the place,
  • they participate in transmitting the values of the Grand Site that justified its protection.

The third edition of the Fête de la Montagne will be officially launched on May 26, 2023 with the presentation of the Grand Site Guide and the new logo chosen with the participation of local residents.

With many new features, exceptional meetings and visits, involved and committed players, this new season of the Fête de la Montagne invites you to experience unforgettable moments!
