As a mountain guide, I offer a change of scenery for all levels: local exploration days, orienteering games, discovery of the wonders of the Pyrenean environment, etc.
From half-day family hikes to mini-hikes with an overnight stay in a hut or bivouac, I invite you to explore the Ariège and its range of forests, mountain pastures, huts and lakes.
Along the way, we'll sample the local flavours, meet the people involved in the pastoral economy and observe the wildlife. Whether on footpaths or snowshoes, I can offer you a range of activities all year round, at altitudes of between 300 and 3,000 metres! The Tabe and Vicdessos massifs, the Plateau de Sault, the Pays d'Olmes and Mirepoix are all yours!
By way of example, here's what a day's hike might involve, although I'll adapt to your requirements:
Day hikes: (suggested according to demand and type of group)
Family hike around Roquefixade castle (3-hour walk): orienteering game, following the traces of Cathar vestiges, dry-stone huts, a cave and animal tracks. Ages 7 and up.
-Pastoral hike, between Montségur and the Taulat ridge (4h walk, 400m positive ascent and 8km): local history, Moulzoune pond, talc mines, Taulat jasse, view of Montségur and the Tabe massif. From 8 years
-Mountain hike at the foot of Soularac (5h walk, 700 to 900m ascent, 7km): rhododendrons, Appy pond (1730m), pastoral hut, 1 to 2 passes in the Ariège Pyrenees (1955 and 2030m). From age 12.
