Theme markets and flea markets

Treasure hunting

There’s always something going on in the Cathar Pyrenees… Artisan markets, flea markets and theme markets enliven the life of our villages throughout the year and the seasons. Whether you’re a stroller or a treasure hunter, a collector or an enthusiast, there’s bound to be a market where you can do business!

By night

Gourmet markets

In a festive, jovial and musical atmosphere, find all the gourmet night markets of our territory during the summer, in July and August.

The principle is very simple: our local producers come to present and cook their products on the spot and we taste them all together around big shared tables in a festive spirit! Not to be missed!

  • Léran: every Friday evening,
  • Lagarde: every Saturday evening at the château,
  • Troye d’Ariège: every Tuesday evening,
  • Mirepoix: for August 15, on Place Maréchal Leclerc,
  • Troye d’Ariège : every Tuesday,
  • La Bastide sur l’Hers : Thursdays.

Gourmet markets scheduled at other times:

  • Montferrier: in June, on the Saturday of the ewes’ ascent to summer pastures,
  • Benaix: in July,
  • Nalzen: every August 14 each year,
  • Lavelanet: one Tuesday a month from June to September.

Craft markets

From April to December, it’s time for craft markets around major events:

  • Easter weekend: Mirepoix Swing Festival craft market: sure, there’s dancing, but why not treat yourself to a musical instrument?
  • 3ᵉ weekend in July: craft and medieval market for the historic festivals of Mirepoix. A real journey to the heart of the Middle Ages with these colorful stalls and costumed merchants.
  • 1st weekend of August: craft marketfor the Grand Festival International de la Marionnette. We also eat here and, above all, enjoy the shows of the Off festival d’art de la marionnette, lively and original street arts!”
  • 2ᵉ weekend in October: the craft market for the Fête de la pomme. Apple, nothing but apple: jellies, jams, ciders, brandies, tarts, croustades… with a curious gallery of apple objects and characters. Enough to make you fall… in apples 😉

To trees and flowers

Le marché aux Fleurs (Mirepoix)

On May 8, Mirepoix is decked out in the colors of spring: it’s the grand marché aux fleurs. Gardeners beware: flowering plants (pansies, geraniums, begonias or roses) and succulents are taking the town by storm. The producers on hand will be delighted to share their secrets and advice on how to care for them. It’s the market for beautiful plants that will adorn your garden or balcony!

La fête des Roses (Camon)

On the 3rd Sunday in May, place aux roses! For the past 18 years, Camon has paid tribute to the queen of flowers. The village’s 400 rose bushes are at their peak. Horticulturalists from all over the region flock here to offer visitors their finest roses, but not only! All the senses enjoy the festivities: concerts, cultural events and a traditional meal based on local produce round off this lovely moment of floral poetry!

Le marché aux Arbres à Mirepoix

On November 11, the medieval town of Mirepoix takes on the colors of autumn. At Saint Catherine’s Day, all wood takes root, so regional growers and nurserymen will help you choose trees, shrubs and plants, to prepare the beautiful gardens of tomorrow. Notice to amateur gardeners.

Flea markets

China and treasures
  • For the Whitsun weekend, antique dealers and secondhand dealers have a date in Mirepoix. A must for all bargain hunters and unearthers of rare, original or antique items. Amateur collectors and enthusiasts of stamps, coins, books, records, postcards and other objects are on the lookout. Whether you’re looking for a rare gem or just curious, you’re sure to find what you’re looking for here!
  • November 11: a brocante is also held during the Marché aux Arbres.
