Cathar viewpoint

From the small Col de Morenci, a short path takes you to the foot of the castle.

This is undoubtedly the most beautiful view of the Cathar sanctuary! Take a moment to imagine…

Here you follow the GR 7bis. Expect to walk for forty minutes, unless you’re caught up in the splendor of the view, and take the time to stop regularly to let your eyes and mind take in the landscape before you.

Flooded with light, open to the various rocky promontories of the Caroulet gorges and the Montségur pog, the view will leave you speechless.

You then pass through the hamlet of Mouréous to the junction with the sentier des tisserands, before reaching the ruins of the Péchiquelle farm.

The return journey takes the same route, unless you fancy a trip up to Montségur castle.
